Q:
“Why is the String Splitter so large?”
A:
The primary reason for the size of the String Splitter
is to allow first and foremost 100% light transmission
to the pupil of the eye. By allowing 100% light
transmission, the eye is not forced to re-focus
on the target. This allows for quicker target acquisition.
The second reason for its size is peripheral vision,
or being able to see up and down or left and right
of the target. Having greater peripheral vision
allows the shooter to see the entire target, not
just a section. This is extremely important when
shooting in low light conditions as to not shoot
behind the wrong leg for instance.
Q:
“It’s too big. You have to lose accuracy
as compared to a hunting peep, right?”
A:
Wrong. We have proven time and time again with numerous
shooters that you will be just as accurate with
a String Splitter as you are with any hunting peep,
AND MORE ACCURATE THAN A HUNTING PEEP IN EXTREME
LOW LIGHT CONDITIONS. In fact, most people can not
believe just how accurate they can shoot with the
String Splitter.
Q:
“How much will the String Splitter slow my
bow down?”
A:
The String Splitter will only slow your bow down
approximately 4 – 6 feet per second. The average
hunting style peep sight will decrease bow speed
by 4 – 6 feet per second, and some up to 8
feet per second.
Q:
“Will the String Splitter make my string vibrate
after the shot?”
A:
No, you’re string will not increase in vibration
or noise with the String Splitter. I was made to
it’s maximum size without causing vibration
or slowing down your arrow speed any more than a
regular hunting style peep sight.
Q:
“I wear eye glasses and have a hard time seeing
through my peep. Will the String Splitter help?”
A:
Yes. One of the biggest advantages to a shooter
who wears corrective glasses is the large opening.
It greatly reduces seeing the “frame”
of the eyeglasses when trying to get the correct
angle.
Q:
“Will it change my draw length?”
A:
The amount of string that is taken up by the String
Splitter is so minimal, that you will never feel
the difference to your current anchor spot.
Q:
“What about the String Splitter coming around
when I draw my bow back?”
A:
First, because the field of view is so much larger
than a hunting style peep, roll over is no where
near as critical. So for instance, if you draw your
bow back and the string rotates a full degree, you
will see much less looking though a peep. More or
less depending upon the size of the peep. However,
this is not as critical with a String Splitter if
the string does not come back perfectly. This is
a huge advantage to hunters who’ve encountered
this in the field. We recommend that when ever possible,
the shooter replace their string with a good quality,
pre-twisted, pre-stretched string such as Cedar
Hill Archery Strings.
Q:
“How do I tie the String Splitter in? Is there
any thing special to do when installing?”
A:
No, the String Splitter will tie in almost exactly
like a regular peep sight. Just follow the instructions
enclosed and you’ll be fine. If you’ve
never had experience tying in a peep sight before,
we recommend that you have it done by a Pro Shop.
